About The Event

The commonly known Dust Bowl history is about the Okies who left for California, thanks to Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath. But the hidden history of the double whammy that hit the Texas Panhandle in the 1930s, with raging dust storms and the Great Depression making millions destitute, is less told. In research I uncovered while writing the historical novel Unspoken, I found the less-told story of those who stayed and coped was more compelling. [This is a ticketed event with reservations made through LifeLong Learners GTX.]
