Today is National Voter Registration Day. Think about the benefits of being registered to vote…there are many! But here are my Top Five Reasons to Register to Vote:
When you’re registered to vote, you can vote. Any time there’s an election. (And there’s a big one coming up on November 5, if you haven’t heard).
When you’re registered to vote, you’ve got bragging rights. Your voice will be heard, and you can brag about that to anyone, registered or not.
When you brag to someone who’s not registered to vote, you’re encouraging them to register, too, so they can make their voices heard.
When you turned eighteen, registering to vote was a badge of honor. It meant you were an adult, with all the rights and responsibilities of adults–like voting. Today, it’s still a point of pride.
When you’ve registered, and you’ve cast your ballot, you’ll get a free sticker. You can wear it proudly! You fulfilled your patriotic duty, and you’ll be reminding others to do the same.
